The faculty aspects a lot from its trainees, in both theory and practices. We pursue international standards of excellence whist very much encouraging the pleasure of study.

We hope to equip our trainees for a prolonged success throughout their careers.

We offer specialist studios, laboratories and comprehensive design workshops. There, the experienced lecturing and technical staff, many of whom are in commercial practice themselves, draw out trainees’ talents. We have embarked on the advocacies and supportive awareness to bring in international partners to give us succors needed to build the –state-of- the- art- technologies in all our envisioned incubator centres in Nigeria and Africa.

At Proffy Maximedia Incubator City, we are passionate about the visual world and all the various factors which create it: from the most speculative artistic exploration to development of a visual language; the influences on the creation of the buildings and spaces we inhabit; the way we dress and the decorative objects we surround ourselves with; and how we study and transmit an enthusiasm for our visual and cultural heritage.

RESEARCH

Proffy Maximedia Incubator’s research, which underpins teaching at professional level, aims to embed research excellence in Fine and Applied Arts, and develop Design and Pedagogy as further areas of research activity. A strategic goal is to increase the incubator’s reputation for international research excellence, building on its strengths in the high-quality dissemination of research in Fine Art, in Applied Arts there is a focus on excellence in such areas architecture, art, building science, design management, design history, digital multimedia, and photography and video.

We hope to shall interest towards expertise in contour fashion, the developing world built environment, energy and thermal comfort in buildings, footwear design, post occupancy evaluation of buildings, product design and development, and software development for design and e-commerce.

We shall be researching on diverse range of topics including color forecasting in fashion, human-computer interface, Islamic woman’s art, and Indian temple architecture, interpretability of abstract symbols, sustainable futures, and universal design. We shall be fostering a vibrant research culture research seminar in Architecture, Design and fine Art; with contributions from staff, students, and visiting specialists.

Generic research training is provided across the Proffy Maximedia’s incubator and augmented by subject- specific programmes.

In future we shall be conducting a research project within our incubator as exploration of the function of creative practice as research method. This will reflect in our professional studies and trainings including outstanding investigation of the electro- deposition of metals onto glass, a research project on sound and its role in corporate identity, a visual exploration of the relationship between photography, mortality and settlement.
