Our faculty of Sport, Performing Arts and Leisure offers a combined centre of excellence in these three specialist fields, with national and international recognition, reputation and accreditation from industry bodies across the range courses leading to certificate and diploma level wards Areas covered include applied sport and exercise science, dance science, hospitability, music and variety of research programmes.

RESEARCH

The faculty engages in wide range of research which feeds into its taught programmess. Sports research focuses on two main areas with specialists groups in Exercise and Health, and Exercise and Performance. The Exercise and Health group investigates methods of scaling, performing indices with health-related risk factors in participants of different gender, body size, and age and maturation status. In the Sport and Exercise Science Group, focus is on both sports psychology and the performance and training of elite athletes. Our Research in music will include the sociology of music performance. The Tourisms research Group undertakes work on strategic development and marketing initiatives, as well as human resources management projects, including the training needs of small tourism, leisure and hospitality organization.
